They had a projector set up to view their videos, and popcorn and donuts as yummy treats, because what movie date doesn't have those?!
Though beforehand, they still did a couple of more wedding traditional things, such as emotion-filled speeches, a delicious catered meal, and cake cutting. A cake that was pure ART! I actually did not even realize it was a cake. Jess's sister was the artist who made the cake, telling me that she actually had painted it to have the look of real birch wood. The cake was topped with replicas of two of the loved pups in their life. Which, I'm always a huge fan of incorporating the fur babies in your life on your wedding days!
They also had a blessing over their marriage by a family member before the wedding video began, almost like a ceremony.
And following the videos, none other than a good old fashion dance floor broke out! Jess + Will shared a married dance, one that had a little plot twist. A long-time family friend shared their anniversary with Jess + Will's movie date day. Jess + Will wanted to honor this couple by sharing their dance with them.
Of course, parent dances were a must too! One of my favorite shots of the day was actually one of Jess and her Dad. Possibly it was the happy faces and the twinkling lights, or even more likely it is because I have the privilege of knowing Jess's Dad, Mark. One of Jess's step-sisters, Haleigh, is a super good friend of mine, someone I like to call my "Forever Friend", the Copper to my Todd (Disney movie reference, anyone know which movie?!). Haleigh has invited me to her parent's house for pool and lunch dates, which is where I first met Jess's Dad and actually Jess herself! Knowing Mark, and Haleigh's amazing Mama, it's easy to understand why Jess is as wonderful a human as she is. When you're surrounded by fantastic people, you yourself tend to be a pretty spectacular person.
